COMPTON, Calif.(KNX) – Los Angeles County deputies are searching for the suspects wanted in a deadly gunfight at a Compton store.
It happened April 3 at Smoke Shop on S. Wilmington Avenue around 7:00 p.m.
Deputies said Kahlel Lundy, 23, Keith Rachel, 21, and two others entered the shop in an attempt to rob it at gunpoint. The employee, who was also an armed security guard for the shop, also withdrew his gun and shots were fired.
“The employee sustained gunshot wounds to his face and neck and was later released from the hospital,” the sheriff’s department said.
A half an hour later, deputies responded to a gunshot victim on Martin Luther King Hospital where it was revealed the victim was one of the robbers from Smoke Shop.
A second suspect was arrested the next day. Deputies said Lundy and Rachel are still at large and wanted for murder.
