SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (KCBS RADIO) – One hundred new electric car charging stations are coming to Taco Bell restaurants across California.
The Taco Bell located at 465 El Camino Real in South San Francisco was the first to unveil the new solar-powered high-speed chargers.
This represents a sign of electric vehicle infrastructure growing as it currently can be hard to find the perfect spot to charge and kill time.
"This is a really convenient spot to charge my car, it's parked right next to the Taco Bell so there are refreshments and there is a bathroom in there," Annison Van, a Tesla owner who lives in San Francisco, told KCBS Radio.
Van was stationed at the new Peninsula charging spot on Thursday by ChargeNet – the tech company installing the solar-powered chargers – to help anyone who had questions about the new devices.

The 75-watt charge will cost users about $20 for a 20 minute boost, which should give them around 100 miles worth of power.
"I do have trouble finding spots," Van said. "There are a lot of Tesla owners that just charge their car at Teslas and sometimes it is hard but having these extra stops at a nice location is even better."
"Yes, hopefully it is a trend since I am an EV vehicle owner. It would be really nice if a lot of chargers were closer to rest stops or fast food restaurants in general."
Starbucks and IKEA are among the corporations announcing new charging stations as the chargers become more in demand each year.
California has the highest percentage of registered EVs in the country and the state has voted to ban the sale of gas-powered cars by 2035.
Elon Musk tweeted in 2018 that he wanted to open "an old school drive-in, roller skates & rock restaurant" in Los Angeles. A definite date for a location has not been announced.
