EAST VALINDA, Calif. (KNX) — An East Valinda woman was killed by her family’s four dogs Tuesday in the backyard of her home.
Authorities said her 6-year-old son also suffered minor injuries in the attack that occurred sometime before 6 p.m., according to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. David Petrocelli told the publication the woman, who lived at the home in the 18000 block of Elizondo Street with a sister-in-law, tried to access a backyard window after she forgot her key.
“The dogs were familiar with the child, but not with the mother,” Petrocelli said.
The woman, who was reported to be in her twenties, suffered major injuries to her head and arms and was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to the SGVT.
The L.A. County Department of Animal Control took custody of the dogs, according to City News Service. Their breeds were not immediately known.
