The GRAMMY Awards happened this weekend, and Phoebe Bridgers was the big winner of the night, with four trophies if we include the three that she got with her band, boygenius. Following Phoebe, SZA, Killer Mike, Victoria Monét, and the band boygenius by itself tied for second with three wins each. Miley Cyrus took home her first GRAMMYs, Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance, for her hit song "Flowers." Meanwhile, Taylor Swift made GRAMMY history after she won Album of the Year for "Midnights," as the the first singer to win that category four times. "What Was I Made For?" by Billie Eilish and Finneas took home Song of the Year.
Celine Dion made a surprise appearance to present the final award for Album of the Year to Taylor. Celine, who has been battling Stiff-Person Syndrome, received a standing ovation from the audience. While people bashed Taylor for not acknowledging Celine in any way, what they didn't see was after, when the two hugged and shared a special moment and photo backstage.
Jay-Z was honored with the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award, and he used his speech to call out the Academy for never giving his wife, Beyoncé, Album of the Year. He said, "I don't want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more GRAMMYs than everyone and never won Album of the Year. So even by your own metrics, that doesn't work. Think about that. The most GRAMMYs...never won Album of the Year. That doesn't work." He also later took a drink out of his GRAMMY to celebrate his win.
Jennifer Lopez had a bit of a wardrobe malfunction during her performance of "Can't Get Enough" on SNL, but she handled it like a pro.
JLo had to tweak her choreography, doing a bit of a hair flip to grab and then toss away a loose hair extension. People on X had a blast with it, writing things like, "Not Jennifer Lopez literally snatching her own wig off," and "Jennifer Lopez just danced her hair off."
After his attack on Elmo and subsequent apology on the "Today" show, "Curb Your Enthusiasm" star Larry David seems to be walking back on the apology. Larry said on "Late Night with Seth Meyers," "Elmo was, he was going on about mental health and I had to listen to every word. And I was going, 'Oh my God, oh my God, I don't think I can take another second of this!' And so I got off my chair and I approached him and I throttled him. I couldn't take it! And you know what? I would do it again!"
Alyssa Milano is doubling down in her own defense for asking her fans to donate to a GoFundMe for her son's baseball team so they could go to a tournament. Now, her son has apparently been getting comments posted on his own Instagram calling out his mom, and he responded saying, "I'm only 12 and I love my mom. My mom is the greatest human of all time." Alyssa shared that and wrote, "Every parent raises money for their child's sports teams and many of them do so through GoFundMe. I am no different. As much as I'd love to pay for the entire team and their families for travel, transportation, hotel, food and beverage, uniforms, trading pins, and all the things teams do for this kind of trip—I can not afford to do so. Maybe someday." She's said to be worth $10 million and her husband is worth millions as well, so are these kids swinging diamond encrusted bats or what?
