The series writer, Susan Collins, is putting out a new prequel book in 2025, "The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping," and a movie adaptation is set to come out on November 20, 2026. The story will look at Panem 24 years before the events of "The Hunger Games," starting on the morning of the reaping of the 50th Hunger Games. That would mean it probably follows the story of Haymitch Abernathy, played by Woody Harrelson in the original "Hunger Games" movies.
