She said, "I wasn't even scheduled for a checkup, I was actually accompanying my daughter to the dermatologist." At the end of her daughter's appointment, she thought maybe she'd ask the doctor about a spot on her temple. Good thing she did, because according to Christie, "(The doctor) looked and he goes, 'We've got to do a biopsy immediately… This is something.' Then the biopsy came back. Cancer." She added, "They took care of it, and luckily, my hair grows in that direction, but the scar is barely noticeable."
Shocking and sad news, Mamie Laverock, a 19-year-old actress on "When Calls the Heart," is in critical condition after falling five stories from a balcony walkway. Mamie was actually at a hospital earlier this month for a medical emergency, and on Sunday, she fell from a balcony there when she was "escorted out of a secure unit of the hospital" and has now "sustained life-threatening injuries." A GoFundMe was set up to help support costs related to her recovery.
