Mariah Carey is facing a $20 million lawsuit over her song "All I Want for Christmas Is You." Andy Stone and Troy Powers say her 1994 hit infringes on the Vince Vance and the Valiants' 1989 song with the same title, melody, hook, and overall vibe of their song. Andy Stone had previously filed a similar lawsuit last year, but it was dropped five months later. And here we are again.
There's a lot of buzz around Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's relationship, and rumor has it, it's become overwhelming for his mom, Donna, his dad, Ed, and his older brother, Jason (also in the NFL). But since Travis is happy, they're dealing with it. What's making Travis even happier is the chance to make some extra money, thanks to his new relationship. Word is that Travis has filed several trademarks for clothing, bobbleheads, and even cereal, based on the filing of "KELCE'S KRUNCH."
"Succession" star Alan Ruck, who played Cameron in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," ended up crashing his car in LA. Kind of ironic, considering that his character in FBDO destroyed his father's prized car. Surveillance footage shows Alan hitting a car in an intersection before careening into a pizza shop. Sources say there's no suspicion of DUI right now, and Alan is said to have stayed behind and talked with police.
Recently released body camera footage shows how Britney Spears tried to get out of a ticket when she was stopped on October 6th. In the footage, you can see Britney telling the officer, "I'm so sorry, I had to tee-tee, my house was right there. I'm so sorry." That excuse wasn't good enough for why she was passing on double yellow lines. She kept reiterating that her house was right there and kept apologizing, saying, "I'm so sorry, I have to use the bathroom … it's about to come out right now. I'm so sorry."
"Suddenly Susan" star Brooke Shields collapsed at a restaurant in New York City in September, having a grand Mal seizure, and Bradley Cooper came to her rescue, riding with her in the ambulance. What happened was that her assistants couldn't find Brooke's husband, so one reached out to Bradley Cooper, who happened to be nearby. Brooke explained, "The next thing I remember, I'm being loaded into an ambulance… I thought to myself, 'This is what death must be like.' You wake up and Bradley Cooper's going, 'I'm going to go to the hospital with you, Brooke,' and he's holding my hand. And I'm looking at my hand, I'm looking at Bradley Cooper's hand in my hand, and I'm like, 'This is odd and surreal.'" And now I'm now going to go change all my emergency contact forms to Jason Momoa and Dwayne Johnson, whoever happens to be closest at the moment.
