Homer Laffoon, Atlas' 20-year-old half-brother, had asked the courts to deny James' request, which would have given James access to Atlas' inheritance. Homer had originally requested to be his brother's guardian, but James argues he was "not suitable" since he doesn't have a job and is so young. It's believed Anne's estate is worth $400,000. She did not have a will in place when she died. Read more at okmagazine.com. And it seems the judge wasn't a big fan of James', saying in the courtroom when he shook his head at the decision, "Don't shake your head at me – ever, if you're going to appear again. Please take your hands out of your pockets, sir."

Brendan Fraser is already earning Oscar buzz for his performance in "The Whale," but his casting as a 600-pound gay man has also been met with some backlash. The film's director, Darren Aronofsky, responded to the criticism in a new interview with Variety, saying, "We tried to research actors with obesity. Outside of not being able to find an actor who could pull off the emotions of the role, it just becomes a crazy chase. Like, if you can't find a 600-pound actor, is a 300-pound actor or 400-pound actor enough?" He added that he didn't think an actor with obesity could handle the demands of a film production schedule, explaining, "From a health perspective, it's prohibitive. It's an impossible role to fill with a real person dealing with those issues." As for Brendan, his performance is said to be so good that Tuesday, audiences at the BFI London Film Festival gave him a five-minute standing ovation after the screening. Brendan broke down in tears.
