Singer Gwen Stefani has been on our collective minds recently as we all anxiously await her and fiancé Blake Shelton's imminent wedding. Fans are also getting super excited for the 30th anniversary of Gwen's break out with her band No Doubt in 2022.
Joining Jimmy Kimmel last night to promote her brand new single, "Slow Clap," which features lyrics such as, "I put in my time / From the garage to the penthouse, girls / Underdog to the top of the world," the discussion naturally turned to the ska-rock band that made Gwen a household name, and No Doubt's emotional 1995 album, Tragic Kingdom.

"The whole purpose for the 'Tragic Kingdom' is the breakup, the heartbreak. There's a lot of feelings," Gwen told Jimmy. "Even in that record, when you say the words 'tragic kingdom,' my heart still kind of is broken. 'Cause those songs were about a really sad time for me."
The record which features the hits "I'm Just A Girl," "Spiderwebs," and "Don't Speak," is well known as being a testament to Stefani's relationship and breakup from then-boyfriend and bandmate, bass player Tony Kanal.
Amid all of the congratulations and social media chatter surrounding the milestone, Stefani admits to Kimmel feeling pangs of nostalgia, some not in the most positive ways. "I didn't know I was going to feel like that. It was kind of depressing," Gwen said. "It was a very strange feeling."
While there's no telling what the future could hold for the rest of her bandmates as far as a reunion is concerned, Gwen says she "never would have imagined that we would have put the 30 years into it that we did in the first place, you know?" Adding, "if I could predict the future, I would tell you."
