Charlie Manuel, his friend Larry Bowa, and other Phillies executives will sleep outside in Center City on November 21st to raise funds for and awareness for homeless youth.

Covenant House, which has locations all over North and South America, is a homeless shelter in Germantown that serves over 3,000 youth every year. They focus on the homelessness of people 21 and younger.

Manuel, who joined Tuesday's 94WIP Midday Show, talked about how Raul Ibañez got him interested in helping.

"(Ibañez) started telling me he loves to bring those kids to the ballpark," Manuel explained. "He likes for them to watch the game, of course, and he likes to feed them and make sure that they enjoy the game.

"At that time, I didn't think a whole lot of it, but once he left our team and I was talking to him and he said, 'I'm gonna miss those kids coming to the ballpark because I liked helping.' So when that happened, Missy was already in with some of the stuff the Phillies do. I wanted to keep coming to ballpark and seeing games so I kind of got invlolved with.

"I've visited them, I've spoke, and I feel like I'm a part of it."

Manuel and the 94WIP Midday Show also discussed the Phillies, including the new mansger Joe Girardi who Manuel loves. You can listen to the full interview below.
