The Philadelphia Flyers won't be trading captain Claude Giroux, at least so they say.

New general manager Chuck Fletcher, who replaced Ron Hextall on December 3rd, told the media on Monday ahead of the NHL's February 25th trade deadline that Claude Giroux is untouchable.

Giroux, 31, has finished in top-four the MVP voting three times, as pointed out by Marks & Reese producer Ben Livingston. Livingston was making his case for Giroux being underappreciated, a bandwagon I've been on for years

Giroux made his sixth all-star appearance this weekend and has been one of the most reliable and consistent players in the NHL over the last five years.

As for the Flyers, they've won four of their last five and look to build on that success heading into the second half of the season. Fletcher believes the team can make a run.

Fletcher: "It sounds crazy to say this, but we've been historically unlucky. I do believe we have the talent to make that turn. I think we have the power to do this quickly but we've buried ourselves a quick hole this year...We need to find pieces to improve our team."
