Doug Pederson told Angelo Cataldi, when asked about control of his coaching staff during an interview on Friday morning, said, "I have a bunch of conversations, but ultimately it's my decision."
Doug Pederson insisted that Lurie and Roseman did not influence his decision to part ways with Groh and Walch.
"At the time of the press conference (on Wednesday morning) I was still in the evaluation process," he said. "I do have a lot of conversations in the building. And part of my evaluation, me personally, is with our owner Mr. Lurie. I think it's important he and I continue to stay on the same page, along with Howie. We do have some tough conversations. I think in my stand point it's very beneficial to me, personally, and it helps me lead the football team. But by no means was there any influence there. Ultimately, it's my decision there through the whole evaluation process. I have a bunch of conversations, but ultimately it's my decision."
Pederson says he will have complete control over picking his new offensive coordinator.
"Ultimately," Pederson continued, "I have to feel comfortable with these gentleman on my staff."
Pederson was asked about RB coach Duce Staley potentially becoming the new OC, "Everything is on the table, everything is open and he could be part of that conversation."
