Malik Jackson: 'Coming here with Cox was a big deal'

The Eagles' offense—with Carson Wentz, Zach Ertz, Alshon Jeffery, DeSean Jackson, Miles Sanders, Jordan Howard, Nelson Agholor, Darren Sproles, Dallas Goedert, and one of the league's most reliable offensive lines—has stolen the training camp excitement.

And somehow, the 29-year-old Pro Bowl and Super Bowl winning defensive tackle new Eagle, Malik Jackson, is flying under the radar.

"What's important to me is showing Howie and the people that were saying bring Malik here, proving them right," Jackson said after practice on Monday's 94WIP Midday Show with Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie. "I just feel like such an urgency just to be like, 'Yo he was a great decision, he's gonna be an Eagle for awhile. He fits us really well, we're glad we brought him here. I just really want to prove the people right that brought me here and make them proud."

Jackson signed a three-year deal worth $30 million with the Eagles in March. He spent his fourth NFL seasons with the Broncos and his previous three with the Jaguars. Jackson has played with DeMarcus Ware, Von Miller, and Calais Campbell, but can't wait to learn from Fletcher Cox.

"The best opportunity for me to be where I want to be," Jackson said of his decision to join the Eagles. "For me coming here with Fletcher Cox was a big deal for me, be able to see what he does. A guy who is gonna be in the Hall Of Fame one day. I want to be able sit behind him and see his work ethic, see what he brings, see what he sees, see where he places his hands and that's gonna make me a better player."
