The Los Angeles Clippers have emerged as a team interested in James Harden, according to multiple sources including The Athletic's Shams Charania.
Most Sixers fans are hoping for Paul George when they hear the Clippers are interested, but Yahoo's Jake Fischer reports the Clippers and Sixers have recently discussed deals for Normal Powell and Marcus Morris.
George, 33, is set to make $45.6 million in 2023-24 and then has a 2024-25 player option for $48.8 million.
Morris is a Philadelphia native and both players are veteran role players who can help the Sixers, although neither is going to excite the fan base.
ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski broke the news on Thursday that Harden will pick up his $35.6 million player option, and the two sides—him and the Sixers—will work together "to explore trade scenarios."
