Shorr-Parks: 'Nuggets ring is meaningless, Embiid better than Jokic'

Nikola Jokic is now an NBA Champion, but Eliot Shorr-Parks does not care.

In fact, ESP is making waves on the internet again, calling the Nuggets' championship "meaningless" and recently tweeting just five days ago that Joel Embiid is better than Jokic, still.

ESP's argument is mainly based on the fact the Nuggets have had, arguably, the easiest NBA Finals path ever, based on the seeding of their opponents.

"He got handed easiest path to a title we might ever see again in the NBA and maybe ever when you consider the play-in tournament," Shorr-Parks told Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie on Tuesday's 94WIP Morning Show. "I hope the Joel uses it as motivation and the Sixers probably should have beaten the Celtics in Game 6. That's true. But I don't think this means, 'The Nuggets are way better, they're winners and the Sixers are losers and Jokic is way better than Embiid.' I think that's an overreaction to them getting to play bad teams the entire path to their title."

To Shorr-Parks' point, the Sixers did finish the regular season with a better overall record than the Nuggets, who played in a weaker Western Conference this season. In the playoffs, Denver beat the 8-seeded Timberwolves, then the 4-seeded Suns (who lost Chris Paul to injury during the series), then the 7-seeded Lakers, and finally the 8-seeded Heat.

On the other hand, Jokic did it. He grinded through the entire postseason in dominant fashion and led his team to an NBA Championship.
