Free-agent power forward Markieff Morris tweeted that he's "been wanting to" play for his hometown Philadelphia 76ers.
The former Prep Charter High School basketball star and twin brother of Marcus Morris has played for six NBA teams throughout his career and says he's a free-agent by choice and will sign with a team soon.
The 6'9" 32-year-old averages 10.9 points and 5.2 rebounds for his career, while shooting a very respectable 34.1% (on 2.5 attempts per game) from beyond the arc.
Morris played on a one-year, $2.6 million contract with the Heat last season and would certainly give the Sixers some toughness on their bench if they decided to add Morris.
Having said that, the Sixers did recently sign P.J. Tucker to a three-year deal, who is a similar type of player to Morris.
