Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Jordan Mailata says A.J. Brown organized an entire team outing to help build chemistry before Sunday's loss to the Cardinals.
"A.J. has been great, he's been phenomenal. A couple days before the game...we had a whole team, escape room thing going on where most of the guys showed just to build camaraderie," Mailata said on Tuesday. "He's been great behind the scenes. That was A.J. The team helped facilitate the bookings. All this talk about A.J. not being a leader...you guys don't know him like we do. He's a great leader, man"
Brown has not spoken to the media in weeks and speculation has built about his apparent frustrations.
As for the team, Mailata was candid about what needs to change after losing four of five games.
"In critical moments of the game, I can't be giving away penalties like that making our predicament even worse than it needs to be," Mailata told Ike Reese and Eliot Shorr-Parks. "We've got to change up something. We've got to be more detailed, we've got to be smarter, we've got to play more physical, we've got to play tough man, and most of all we've got to play with pride. As players we've got to go out there and do our job. It can't be empty promises anymore. This is getting old now. This is getting old and we've got to take pride in it."
