DeCamara: 'One of worst Eagles' losses in a long time'

It’s one thing to get blown out by one of the best teams in the NFL. In fact, when it happened to the Eagles last week against the 49ers, Brandon Graham said he was glad it happened.

That Philly responded to that loss by getting walloped by the Cowboys is, in a word, concerning.

The Eagles got smacked in Dallas on Sunday Night Football, losing 33-13 to fall to 10-3 on the season. The Cowboys currently hold the tiebreaker, so the Eagles now sit in second in the NFC East.

Philly’s defense got carved up by Dak Prescott, who has been playing at an MVP level, while the offense struggled to get much going. The Eagles’ remaining four games are against soft opponents, none of whom are above .500, so this was their last test against the league’s elite ahead of the postseason.

For the second straight week, it was a test they failed miserably.

“This is one of the Eagles’ worst losses in a long time, and it’s the type of loss that really, really, really makes me question how good the Birds are,” Joe DeCamara said Monday on the 94WIP Morning Show. “I know teams hit bumps in the road during the season. I know we saw near the end of 2017 obviously after Carson (Wentz) got injured, we saw it, it can happen. The Eagles lost two in a row last year and got to the Super Bowl – now granted, those were two games without Jalen Hurts – but it’s almost an impossibility to not hit a bump in the road during the season.

“The problem is this doesn’t feel like a bump in the road, doesn’t feel like a speedbump. It feels like they just hit a brick wall. Now, hopefully they prove that feeling wrong, but I’m telling you as I wake up this morning that’s what it feels like. That’s what it felt like watching the game last night.

“They got taken apart two weeks in a row by excellent football teams, San Francisco and Dallas. It’s one thing to happen once, it is truly alarming when it happens back-to-back weeks.”
