"Right now, are you envisioning a competition for the starting [quarterback] job at training camp?"

That is the final question Angelo Cataldi asked Eagles head coach Doug Pederson to end their final 94WIP phone interview of the 2020-21 season.

"Right now, I just can't wait to get off of this phone call," Pederson joked.

"I think you know me enough to know that I’m not in a position to say or do that right now," he continued, in seriousness. "We have a lot of things we have to evaluate moving forward. I know this, I still have a lot of confidence and trust in Carson Wentz. He and I are going to get things fixed. That’s all I say."

According a report from ESPN's Chris Mortensen, the relationship between Pederson and Wentz is "fractured beyond repair," and Wentz is seeking a trade.

"His relationship with the Eagles is all-but fractured -- in fact, it is fractured," Mortensen said. "Wentz is expected to ask the Eagles for a trade. He'll help facilitate a trade. The reaction of Jeffrey Lurie the owner will be vital to this one, but right now, Wentz clearly wants out of Philadelphia and a fresh start somewhere else. That will be a big story in the offseason."
