23-year-old Eagles RB Miles Sanders and 25-year-old Eagles WR Travis Fulgham took two completely opposite paths to their respective excellent offensive performance in Philadelphia's loss at the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
Fulgham — who caught a ridiculous 10 of 13 targets for 152 yards and a touchdown — was a 2019 sixth-round pick out of Old Dominion of the Detroit Lions. He was claimed off of waivers first by the Packers and most recently by the Eagles on August 20th.
Sanders — who had 99 all-purpose yards and two rushing scores on just 13 total touches in his hometown of Pittsburgh — was the Eagles' second-round pick last season from Penn State and, frankly, is expected to be Philadelphia's most explosive young player.
Sanders talked about Fulgham's breakout on Monday's 94WIP Midday Show with Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie.
"He's a straight baller," Sanders said of Fulgham. "Strong hands, he can jump out of this world. He can run too and he's making contested catches. I just told him to just stick with (Greg) G-Ward and them two together, just keep working. That's all we know how to do, just work. As long as they see that then sky is the limit for him."
Despite the two notable offensive performances by Sanders and Fulgham, the Eagles lost 38-29 falling to an ugly 1-3-1.
"I think all of these loses that we've had have been self inflicted wounds, honestly," Sanders told the 94WIP Midday Show. "All of the mistakes that happens on game day, happens in practice, so we just really have to keep each other accountable for all of the mistakes and work harder. We're just making too many mental mistakes and giving our opponents the game, basically."
