According to those in attendance, Cam Newton had a better performance Tuesday against the Eagles than he did in Monday.
Except Eagles safety K’Von Wallace might have a little something to say about that.
On the field during the session, Wallace didn't seem to like Newton checking down to running backs on a lot of his throws and let him know about it.
Speaking to reporters afterwards, he explained where he was coming from and how he was trying to get into Newton's head.
“I’m just aggressive in my approach to the game, who I go against. I feel like whoever is the opposition, I am going to do my best to get in their head — to say what I need to say and do what I need to do to beat them, to win," Wallace said. "I felt like at the time, there were a lot of check downs going on. I had to let him know that like, not only are you throwing check downs, you’re doing it over and over again, like you mastered it. Like you’re the king of it, so I had to let him know like you’re king check down.
"I feel like any way you can get in the quarterbacks head, that is the best approach to do, you know what I am saying? Say whatever and mean what you say basically.”
Wallace did say he respects Newton and felt like the two made each other better.
“He’s competitive and so am I," he said. "That type of level of competitiveness brings out the best in him and brings out the best in me.”
We'll see if this carries over into Thursday's game.
