Jalen Hurts gave a big hug to his former coach Doug Pederson after the Eagles' win over the Jaguars on Sunday.
The two exchanged some quick words and according to NBCSportsPhiladelphia's John Clark, Hurts told Pederson, "You're the reason I'm here."
Hurts went 16 for 25, with 204 yards, 1 INT and 38 yards and a score on the ground in a comeback win over Pederson's new team.
The 24-year-old QB now has thrown for 1,120 yards and four touchdowns, while rushing for another 205 yards and four touchdowns in four straight wins to start the season, putting himself among the favorites in the NFL MVP race.
Hurts, of course, was controversially drafted in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft by Howie Roseman, Pederson, and the Eagles, as Carson Wentz was expected to be the team's franchise quarterback.
Things did not work out for Wentz in Philadelphia, nor Pederson, but Hurts—with his new head coach Nick Sirianni—is thriving, as the Eagles are the only undefeated remaining in the NFL.
