49ers DT Javon Hargrave says practices in San Francisco are much more "demanding" than in Philadelphia.

"It's kind of similar because I think we all were very close, even in Philly it's very close, everybody was very tight," Hargrave told teammate Arik Armstead when asked about the differences between the two organizations on a recent podcast.

"But I can say, it's like extremely harder. Practices—yeah, here [in San Francisco]. Very, more demanding. I think it's like more so how people call the Golden State coaching and the Miami Heat. Over here it's the Miami Heat, over there it's the Golden State because it's more like relaxed, you just be chillin'. Over here? Nah it's work. Every day, every day you're about to get it. I feel like Kyle [Shanahan] is like the Pat Riley. You know what you getting over here. Everybody can't make it over here for sure."

Hargrave, 30, had a career-high 11.0 sacks in 2022, helping the Eagles win the NFC Championship and reach the Super Bowl. In the offseason, Hargrave signed a four-year, $84 million contract with the 49ers.

Hargrave has 7.0 sacks, 14 QB hits, and 8 tackles for loss in 16 games this season for San Fran. And once again, Hargrave's team is the No. 1 seed in the NFC.
