Jon Ritchie: 'Nick Sirianni was awful, should not be head coach of a team vying for title'

Jon Ritchie unloaded on Philadelphia Eagles' fourth year head coach Nick Sirianni following the team's ugly 33-16 loss at the Tampa Bay Bucs on Sunday.

"I am fatigued by this team, by this coach, by this quarterback. My patience is nearly gone," Ritchie said on Monday's 94WIP Morning Show with Joe DeCamara. "The coaching, you failed us. Nick, you were awful. We were no where close to ready. Our team was soft. He should not be the head coach of a team vying for a title."

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts had a poor performance culminating in his seventh turnover of the season (2nd most among all QBs) via a huge sack-fumble late in the third quarter ending Philadelphia's hopes of a come back.

"Jalen Hurts failed us, he was bad," Ritchie said. "I wonder how far back he has slid. I wonder whether or not he is salvageable with any coach other than Shane Steichen...I'm not ready to give up on Jalen, but he needs to be much better in a hurry."

About two hours later on the 94WIP Morning Show, Ray Didinger echoed similar sentiment regarding Sirianni.

"What's my big takeaway from yesterday?" Didinger said. "It's the head coach. Here's a guy that preaches discipline, fundamentals, taking away the big play, and not turning the ball over. The team is not doing any of it. Somewhere along the line there is a disconnect."
