This will just warm your soul.
Noted Philadelphia haters from the Bay Area's 95.7 The Game had Terrell Owens on their show ahead of Sunday's big NFC battle between the 49ers and Cowboys, and they specifically asked T.O. which fan base shows him the most love: Niners fans or Cowboys fans?
Amazingly, T.O. chose neither.
"Honestly, I would probably say the Philly fans," Owens said on 95.7 The Game's Morning Roast with Bonta Hill and Joe Shasky.
"Oh, don't say that T.O. We got a beef with Philadelphia," the host replied.
"Bro, I'm being dead honest with you," Owens continued. "They are some hard core fans. I mean, I think when you think about the personality and just the blue collar workers that they are, I remind them of themselves. A guy that kind of would just put on that hard hat and just go to work. So I think that's where the mutual love and respect was when I played in Philly. Obviously great fan bases in Dallas and San Francisco, but I have to be honest man, when you talk about Philly, those fans bro, they love me like no other."
Just a few months ago, Shasky called Philadelphia fans "scumbags" and then joined the 94WIP Midday Show to defend his take.
"The media, I am talking to you guys—and Hugh, I respect you as a player," Shasky said on the 94WIP Midday Show in July, after calling Philly fans "scumbags".
"I met you over and WIP, you are the real deal. Love you to death. We don't do this anywhere else but in Philadelphia. 'Look out for the fans, they're coming for you.' It's one thing to boo, it's one thing to cheer. Look, you buy a ticket, you're entitled to a certain way of rooting for the game. It's another when you physically go at people. It's another when you're spitting and you're throwing and you're cursing at people nonstop the entire game...We all agree, any group of people that does that, that's lowlife stuff. We're going to a game to watch a team play, come on man.
"Going into that stadium, hot dogs thrown at us, beers thrown at us. People pushing, grabbing us, come on man. That's scum bag—we're going to a game. We're going to a game."
The NFC is shaping up to be a three-team race between three fan bases that do not like each other, in Philly, Dallas and San Francisco.
The Eagles host the Cowboys on November 5th and then play in Dallas on December 10th. They host the 49ers on December 3rd.
