Emmy-winning actress Jessica Walter has died. She was 80.
Walter passed away in her sleep on March 24th at her home in New York, according to Deadline.
“It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of my beloved mom Jessica,” Walters’ daughter, Brooke Bowman, said in a statement, per the outlet.
“A working actor for over six decades, her greatest pleasure was bringing joy to others through her storytelling both on screen and off. While her legacy will live on through her body of work, she will also be remembered by many for her wit, class and overall joie de vivre.”
A veteran actress, Walter most recently garnered fame for her role as family matriarch Lucille Bluth on the sitcom “Arrested Development.” She also voiced the character of Malory Archer on FXX’s animated series "Archer."

In 1971, Walter starred in Clint Eastwood's directorial debut "Play Misty for Me." Other film roles include "Grand Prix," "The Flamingo Kid," and "Slums of Beverly Hills."
In 1975, Walter received an Emmy for her starring role in the NBC series "Amy Prentiss." She would go on to receive subsequent Emmy nominations for “The Streets of San Francisco” in 1977 and “Trapper John, M.D.” in 1980.
Born in New York, Walter began her career on Broadway with performances in Neil Simon’s “Rumors,” “A Severed Head,” and “Photo Finish."
Besides "Arrested Development" and "Archer," Walter's other recent credits include appearances in "At Home with Amy Sedaris," "Good Girls" and "American Housewife." Her final film credit was in the recenly released comedy "The Mimic," co-starring Thomas Sadowski and Gina Gershon.
Walter was married twice, most recently to actor Ron Liebman, who passed away in 2019.
Walter is survived by daughter Brooke Bowman and grandson Micah Heymann.
