Krispy Kreme is offering a sweet new deal that's open to everyone.

The “Be Sweet To Yourself” promotion is valid for a free medium coffee and free Original Glazed doughnut to every customer every Monday from now until May 24.

No purchase is necessary.

Anyone can take advantage of the deal at participating U.S. stores while supplies last.

The offer is not valid with online orders.

Krispy Kreme will also offer the “Be Sweet Dozen” deal every weekend through May 23. Customers who buy a dozen doughnuts will get another dozen for $1. Use the cod "BESWEET."

The promotions come on the heels of a controversial promotion that offered a free glazed donut to anyone who flashed their vaccination card.

The promotion will run “anytime, any day, every day for the rest of the year,” Krispy Kreme chief marketing officer Dave Skena announced, which received pushback from the public who noted that eating a donut a day isn’t healthy and could lead to diabetes.

Others said it also discriminates against Americans who do not want to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

Krispy Kreme’s CEO, Mike Tattersfield, defended the company against the backlash, stating: “We’re a sweet treat company…If folks don’t want to visit a doughnut shop, they don’t have to.”

"I drop off a lot of doughnuts to the healthcare system. They're very appreciative, given the days that they have to work...people are always looking for a little sweet treat break. It's okay," he told Yahoo Finance.

Since not everyone is eligible for the vaccine as of yet, the company kept the promotion open-ended to make sure all customers had ample time to take advantage of the promotion - whenever they get their shots.
