The Coca-Cola Company described Fresca as a "a citrus-based, sugar free product - a soft drink, a low-calorie beverage, a mixer, all in one" when it was launched in the United States and internationally in 1966. Now, their newest version of Fresca is going to be a lot stronger than that.
Coca-Cola announced a partnership with Constellation Brands to launch an alcoholic version of the popular soda called Fresca Mixed.

The new boozy version is described as a "distinctive and intriguing brand that delivers consumers fuller-flavored, convenient, ready-to-drink cocktails using real spirits that are great tasting and high quality," Constellation Brands said in a statement.
Flavors will be inspired by fan recipes when Fresca Mixed is expected to launch later this year, the company said.
The traditional version of Fresca comes in black cherry, cherry citrus, citrus lime, grapefruit, grapefruit mint, lemon, lime and peach flavors.
“The Coca-Cola Company’s Fresca brand is not only trusted by consumers, but also directly delivers on consumer preferences for refreshment, flavor, and convenience – attributes that also play well within beverage alcohol and where we can leverage our expertise,” Constellation president and CEO Bill Newlands said in a statement.
Some of Constellation Brands' alcoholic beverage partners include Corona Extra, Corona Light, Corona Hard Seltzer, Corona Refresca, Modelo Especial, Modelo Chelada, and SVEDKA Vodka.
Fresca isn't the first soda to get an alcoholic version, as Pepsi and Boston Beer Co. announced a hard Mountain Dew Seltzer in August that's expected to launch in 2022.
