The one where a teacher pays an insanely low price for a two-bedroom apartment in New York City.
The internet was sent into a frenzy when a modern-day Monica Geller took to Instagram to share videos of her rent-stabilized apartment in one of the most expensive cities in the country.
When special education teacher Hattie Kolp took to social media with clips of her beautiful 2-bedroom apartment on the Upper West Side, Twitter users quickly made the comparison to Monica Geller upon learning that Kolp's apartment was a mere $1,300 a month.
In the hit '90s show "Friends," Geller had inherited her rent-controlled apartment from her grandmother.
Kolp, on the other hand, grew up in the apartment with her parents, which is how she snagged the sweet deal.
Rent stabilization in New York City happens in buildings built before 1974 with at least six or more apartments. When the rent is controlled, landlords are only able to up the prices by 1.5% each year, 2.5% for a two-year lease.
“It’s just a unique space, and you don’t see apartments like this anymore,” Kolp, 29, told The New York Post. “I just love all the historical details and the moldings, the fireplaces, the creaky floors.”
Since 2018 when Kolp's parents moved out, the special ed teacher has spent her time doing projects to restore the apartment's pre-World War I architectural style - "whenever I get a free moment," she says.
"It's been like my therapy," she said. "It has just allowed me to discover my passion for interior design and old homes."
The apartment features wall panel molding and fireplaces, both original to the building, although the fireplaces are no longer operational. Kolp has filled them with string lights and candles.
Much of Kolp's decor came from her mother or online. She often scours the internet for inexpensive prints, or thrifts her art finds.
