A couple of days after Deion Sanders took to the air at the Scouting Combine to speculate about Tom Brady and Jimmy G swapping gigs, longtime Boston sports reporter Tom Curran threw more gas on the proverbial NFL-rumor-fire.
Here’s how it began when the NBC Sport Boston Pats Insider joined Schein on Sports with Adam Schein on Mad Dog Sports Radio
“50-50. It’s either going to be, to me, it’s either going to be New England or Tennessee, with the 49ers closing hard on the outside.”
Alright, so, the math is a little suspect right there. But Currant went on to say he thinks the Brady-49ers conversation is real.
“I do. I do”
Let’s leave it to Curran, the NBC Sports Boston Pats Insider, to explain things in his own words…

— Mad Dog Sports Radio (@MadDogRadio) March 3, 2020Then on Wednesday, Curran penned a column, in which he revealed the "flimsy" nature of his initial report — before explaining that it might not actually be so flimsy.
"People who KNOW THINGS reached out to say, “Do NOT back off of that…”
And here, according to Curran, is why the story isn't going away.
"First, Brady would love to play there. Second, as much as Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan likes Garoppolo, I’ve been told by multiple sources that he’s got some reservations about Garoppolo’s ceiling and overall decision making."
The second reason is especially noteworthy in the wake of the club's Super Bowl collapse in Miami. Stay tuned for the latest developments on the Brady front.
