The Warriors were banged-up Tuesday in San Antonio but it ended up being a blessing in disguise. Despite fielding a team of just nine players and being without seven top contributors – Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, Draymond Green, Otto Porter Jr., Andre Iguodala and Nemanja Bjelica – Golden State pulled off a 124-120 victory in one of the most memorable wins of the season.
Golden State should be in much better shape for Thursday’s matchup against the Sacramento Kings.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr joined 95.7 The Game’s “Damon & Ratto” Wednesday for his weekly appearance and gave an update on his players. You can listen to the full interview above.
Guard Gary Payton II had to exit Tuesday’s contest with a shin injury but should be good to go against the Kings.
“He banged his shin pretty hard when he went into the stands late in the game for a loose ball,” Kerr told hosts Damon Bruce and Ray Ratto. “It was sore last night, but I saw him today at the facility and he told me he was fine. So, hopefully that means he’ll be out there tomorrow night.”
As for the stars of the team, they should all be available as well.
“Klay was held out just because it was a back-to-back,” Kerr said. “He’ll be fine tomorrow. Steph and Otto and Wiggs were all banged-up, should be good to go tomorrow.”
The lone negative update Kerr gave regarded the health of Bjelica, who has missed the past three games due to back spasms.
“I don’t know about Beli,” Kerr said. “It’s still day-to-day. He has back spasms and they were still bothering him yesterday. We’ll see.”

After Tuesday’s performance in San Antonio, spurred by great nights from rookies Moses Moody (20 points) and Jonathan Kuminga (19 points), gives Kerr confidence about the Warriors’ depth.
“The great part of having depth and having young players and having stars like Steph and Klay, is that you can mix and match and still be able to win and develop guys and look at different combinations,” Kerr said. “It’s a great position to be in, organizationally.”
Green will remain sidelined until at least the All-Star break as he deals with his calf/back disc injury. Andre Iguodala is also out indefinitely as he works back from knee injury.
