Klay Thompson's long awaited return to the floor is almost here.
Listen to the latest episode of "Bay Current" below.

The Golden State Warriors' superstar has not played in an NBA game since tearing the ACL in his left knee on June 13, 2019 during game 6 of the NBA Finals at Oracle Arena. He was set to return last year, but ruptured his right achilles a month before the start of the season - suffering his second devastating leg injury in nearly 18 months.
Finally, after over two-and-a-half long, grueling years of rehab, one of the greatest shooters in basketball history and most beloved Warriors of all-time is about to return.
While the team has not announced when he will come back, ESPN reported this week that there's "optimism" he will return for the Warriors’ game against the Cleveland Cavaliers at Chase Center on Sunday, Jan. 9.

Multiple guests, including Warriors owner Joe Lacob and head coach Steve Kerr, joined KCBS Radio's "Bay Current" on Friday to discuss Thompson's highly anticipated return.
"Honestly, I don’t know how you could script a more emotional moment then that is likely to be," Lacob told KCBS Radio's Bay Current host Matt Pitman, whose voice can also be heard booming throughout Chase Center during Warriors games as the team's public address announcer. "Everyone likes Klay Thompson. The ownership group here loves him, the players love him, the coaching staff loves him, our fans love him, the whole league seems to love him."
"It'll be emotional. That night I expect a lot of tears to flow at Chase. I know I will be very emotional. It’s going to be one of the most special moments that we'll ever witness," Kerr said.
