Steve Kerr says Warriors 'hopeful' Steph Curry will play vs. Cavs

Warriors superstar Steph Curry tweaked his hip during a collision in Tuesday night’s win over the Brooklyn Nets. The team is hopeful Curry will be able to play in Thursday’s road game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr shared the news Wednesday afternoon with 95.7 The Game’s “Damon and Ratto” on his weekly appearance. You can listen to the full interview below:

“Hopeful to play tomorrow,” Kerr said. “We didn’t practice today. So we’ll have a shootaround in the morning and we’ll see how he feels. He took that charge, actually it was a block in the second half and he banged his hip a little bit on that play.”

Curry is listed as questionable for Thursday’s matchup, which is the first leg of a back-to-back. The Warriors will travel to the Motor City to face the Detroit Pistons on Friday.

Steph has put on an absolute show during the team’s current road trip, wowing fans and garnering cheers from the crowds in Charlotte and Brooklyn.

"Steph -- no matter where we go, there’s always a couple thousand blue and yellow jerseys, and tons of kids with signs,” Kerr said. “You hear a lot of cheers for him, no matter where we are. He’s special, we know that. But he’s so special that he gets the other crowd to cheer for him.”

Following his 37-point outburst against the Nets on Tuesday, Curry ranks second in the NBA with 28.7 points per game. He leads the league with 5.4 3-pointers made per game and is yet to miss a contest this season.
