The 95.7 The Game family and Dub Nation was thinking about Tim Roye on Thursday night. Unfortunately the longtime play-by-play man was unavailable for the second straight game due to COVID protocols but said he’s “feeling better.” Instead of his courtside seat, Roye had to watch on TV Thursday as the Warriors clinched their fourth NBA title in four years. Bittersweet, for sure.

Listeners were treated to a magical reunion between Bob Fitzgerald and Jim Barnett for the championship call on 95.7 The Game, but Roye’s presence was sorely missed. Roye joined 95.7 The Game’s “Willard & Dibs” Friday to reflect on his experience Thursday night and discuss the Warriors reaching the pinnacle once again.

“It’s one of those things. It’s real life,” Roye said. “You just gotta kinda roll with it. I was happy for Bob that he got to call a championship moment. But it was kinda weird sitting here last night and watching that and watching the celebration and not being part of it. A little strange. But certainly, congratulations to one and all. I thought they played really well. I thought they were the better team despite what all the projections nailed out. They were a deeper team. And they outplayed ‘em. They outplayed ‘em in the series.”
