When Golden State moved to 9-1 earlier this week, a bold preseason prediction from Warriors fan Andy Liu was realized. It also meant Trysta Krick had to eat her famous words from a viral TikTok, when she called Warriors fans and media “delusional” for their expectations.
Liu and Sam Esfandiari, hosts of the popular Warriors “Light Years” podcast, joined Audacy’s Trysta Krick on her latest NBA “Heat Check” podcast episode Friday.
Liu didn’t wait to start bragging. You can check out the full interview above.
“It feels good to be right, I’ll say that,” Liu said. “It feels good to be right. It feels good to be light years ahead, so to speak, even. The Warriors feel like we’re back in 14-15, so Sam and I are at our peak.”
The trio rehashed their funny back-and-forth which made waves within Dub Nation and the realm of #NBATwitter. Esfandari recounted the mood when Liu made his prediction back in August, as the Warriors were coming off two playoff-free seasons.
“Not to throw him under the bus, but I was like, ‘Come on, man,’” Esfandiari said. “That’s a little, like, pie-in-the-sky.”
Once Krick saw how much traction the video got in August, she knew the hot take had the potential to come back and bite her.
“I was like, ‘Oh, if this ends up happening, this is going to be obviously a big deal.’” Krick said.

When Steph Curry dropped 50 points and led the Dubs to a huge win over the Atlanta Hawks Wednesday, the Warriors reached Liu’s high-water mark. That made it open season on Krick’s Twitter account.
“Warriors fans are used to going at the Nick Wrights and Kendrick Perkins of the world because they’re not fans of Steph necessarily,” Liu said. “This was a good one. It was like Warriors fans doing therapy, except in Trysta’s mentions.”
As wild as Liu’s prediction seemed at the time, the Warriors have actually surpassed it, as they topped the Minnesota Timberwolves Wednesday and will carry a 10-1 record into Friday night’s matchup against the Chicago Bulls.
