Warriors superstar Steph Curry continues to progress in his rehab from a sprained left foot.
Shortly after Golden State issued an official statement early Tuesday afternoon, Warriors coach Steve Kerr offered the latest update to reporters.
“He’s doing individual stuff right now as we speak,” Kerr said. “He’s been doing individual court stuff the last few days. He continues to get his work in.”
Kerr said Curry will continue to be monitored “day-to-day” throughout the week as the team gets set for Saturday’s 5:30 p.m. PT tip-off in Game 1 of the Western Conference first round against the Denver Nuggets. You can hear the action on 95.7 The Game, radio home of the Golden State Warriors.
Curry missed the final 12 games of the regular season after Marcus Smart rolled on his left ankle while diving for a loose ball on March 16. Kerr said a scrimmage on Thursday will be “essential” for Curry during this week’s rehab, as well as his subsequent recovery. The Warriors will also game plan and practice Wednesday.
“We’re not gonna play him without getting a scrimmage,” Kerr said. “The whole team will need a scrimmage given that we generally play every other day and all the sudden we have six days between games. That’s pretty unique. Everybody needs a scrimmage, but it would be irresponsible to put Steph out there in a playoff game without having scrimmage time before.”

Curry averaged 25.5 points, 6.3 assists and 4.5 made 3-pointers per game this season. Despite setting career lows in shooting percentage (43.7) and 3-point shooting percentage (38), Curry remains the key to the Warriors’ offensive identity. He has only played in 11 minutes combined with Klay Thompson and Draymond Green this season.
Kerr is hopeful to see Curry reintegrate with Klay, Draymond, Andre Iguodala and Jordan Poole, as the Warriors make their first playoff appearance since the 2019 Finals.
“It’s been a long time,” Kerr said. “It feels great to be back in this position. First playoff game at Chase, which is exciting. Potentially getting everybody healthy is really tantalizing. … Our ceiling is higher than what we've shown so far."
