As rumors of a potential new Harry Potter movie circulate, one of the stars is making headlines for another reason. Emma Watson, who played Hermione in the popular franchise, has a doppelganger.
Kari Lewis from Indianapolis, IN looks identical to the leading actress. The 31-year-old cosplayer sometimes performs Cameo videos as her famous lookalike.
According to LADBible, there are times when Kari's own mom can't even tell them apart. "My mum says she can really see the resemblance; she sometimes sees a photo of Emma Watson and thinks it's me," Lewis said.
Lewis began getting stopped on the street for her uncanny resemblance to Watson when she was just 12 years old. Then, she began being approached at various conventions, asking her to dress up as Hermione Granger.
"It all started when the first film was released; I went out to the post office to post a letter for my mum and a couple of girls called me Hermione. I had never heard of the name, so I went home and researched it and realized that I did look like her," Lewis said.
The comments continued as the mother-of-one got older - even being stopped during her shift at a restaurant by customers who couldn't believe the resemblance.
"When I worked at a restaurant, I would constantly get comments from customers who couldn't believe the resemblance," Lewis said. "It's fun seeing their reaction; I understand why people think I look like her."
Lewis has imitated other characters of Watson's as well, even dressing up as Belle from the latest remake of "Beauty and the Beast."
