However, one star’s appearance will want to make you grab the tissues.

According to the New York Post, late “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek will make a cameo in the film and even made Reynolds get emotional.

In November, Reynolds shared that the game show host would be seen in the film on his official Twitter page. The announcement was shortly made after Trebek lost his battle to cancer and died at 80.

“Alex Trebek was kind enough to film a cameo for our film ‘Free Guy’ last year despite his battle. He was gracious and funny. In addition to being curious, stalwart, generous, reassuring and of course, Canadian. We love you, Alex. And always will,” the 44-year-old actor tweeted.

Both the “Deadpool” star and Trebek were born and raised in Canada and reunited shortly before his passing to film an episode of “Jeopardy!,” which aired in January.

Reynolds posted a tribute to Trebek that read, “It’s an honor (and a little heartbreaking) to be with #AlexTrebek one last time on @Jeopardy.”

In an interview with E! News, Reynolds gave details about his meeting with the late host earlier this month.

“We shot that separately, actually after the film had been completely done and dusted and completed. Alex was kind enough to jump in and do this little cameo for us. I was just so blown away by how sweet he was to do that,” he said.

He continued, “even right up shortly before he passed away, I talked to him on the phone about a charity initiative he was trying to launch. This guy was really made of good stuff right until the end. Having him in the movie is certainly bittersweet, that’s for sure.”

Movie lovers will have an opportunity to see Trebek in “Free Guy” on August 13. The film was postponed from its July 2020 release due to the pandemic.
