Tom Hanks is one of the most iconic Hollywood actors and recently stopped by The Great Creators podcast with host, Guy Raz, to let fans in on everything from his journey to stardom, most iconic roles, and remaining authentic in his roles.

While Hanks has made appearing on the big screen look like a total breeze, the 66-year-old says he still struggles with being self-conscious and is always working to maintain authenticity in his work.
“I love my job and what goes along with that — I think — is a responsibility to always walk this razor-fine line between truth and falsehood,” he shared with Raz. “Between consistency and presence.”
While his work to stay authentic has made him a favorite of movie fans everywhere, he’s also talked about very highly among some of the most prestigious directors. In Tom’s very humble words, he simply says he’s a favorite because he “shows up on time.”
