Paying it forward never tasted so good.

Earlier this month, an anonymous patron at a Dunkin’ drive-thru attempted to fuel the entire town of Beavercreek, Ohio by purchasing a $1,000 gift card to pay for the remaining orders of the day, according to “Good Morning America.”

When the location’s general manager, Samantha Owens, asked the generous person – who she describes as a regular – to come inside, he reportedly decided to up his purchase to a whopping $4,000.

"We were waiting, and they were like, 'You know what, let's just make it $4,000 -- it's been a really rough year for everybody,'" she told the outlet, adding, "They wanted to pay it forward in any way they could."

"I asked him about a thousand times if he was for sure," Owens told FOX News.

Since Dunkin’ gift cards have a $100 limit, the donation required 40 gift cards divided into two piles: 20 for lucky drive-thru customers and the other 20 for in-store diners.

The outlet notes that the gift cards lasted until about 9 a.m. the following morning.

"A lot of people were ecstatic and surprised," she said.

She continued: "They were like, 'Are you sure?' And then we had the issue where they were trying to pay for the car behind them, and we were like, 'Theirs is taken care of too.'"

While Owens said she’s had customers pay it forward before, this is the first time she’s seen a donation quite this generous.

The good vibes just kept rolling as she explained that the free orders encouraged customers to tip well. Each employee left with about $15 in tips, which is way above the average on any given day.

"I was just so happy that he chose this location, honestly, for something great like this to happen, because we love our regulars and we love our customers," Owens said. "Being able to make them happy really makes a difference in our mood at the store."

She also told FOX News that the gesture gave employees time to bond with customers.

"It gave us a lot more time talking and interacting with the customers, which we don’t get to do often. So we were grateful for that," she noted.

In addition to hot and iced coffee, Dunkin’ has recently expanded their menu to include avocado toast, grilled cheese melts, and a blueberry matcha latte.
