In a recent heart-wrenching conversation, Lil Wayne opened up about his suicide attempt at age 12. The NOLA rapper revealed that if it hadn't been for an officer, whom he lovingly named "Uncle Bob," he might not have lived to share his story.

Prior to shooting himself in the chest, Wayne called the police. As officers raided the home, "Uncle Bob"—real name Robert Hoobler— kept screaming, "do you not see the f***ing baby on the ground with this hole in his chest?!" Wayne was bleeding out profusely. Hoobler carried him out to a fellow officer's car and sped to the hospital.

Weezy recalls Hoobler continually saying "you're not gonna die on me" as the rapper continued to state "I'm not a baby." Years later, the now-superstar met his heroic, retired cop and Hoobler expressed, "I'm happy to see that I saved a life that mattered." Wayne offered financial support to Hoobler, if he ever needed it. Yet, he has never taken Weezy up on his offer.

Back in 2015, Wayne presumed the former officer has passed away and was ready to pay for a funeral. Hoobler, then, got in touch with him to lay the rumors rest. TMZ did report that there's talks of Uncle Bob joining Weezy's team in some capacity, but we love that the men are still close.
