Salma Hayek is teaming up with HBO Max to provide some insight into a woman’s life at 40 —with a twist.
Hayek’s production company, Ventanarosa Productions, is developing a half-hour comedy, titled “A Boob’s Life,” about a woman whose breasts begin talking to her amid a crisis.
Based on the book “A Boob’s Life: How America’s Obsession Shaped Me – and You” by Leslie Lehr, which is slated to hit stores on March 2, the show will be executive produced by Hayek, reports Deadline.
“We are so appreciative that HBO Max was insightful and bold enough to develop this show with us,” said Hayek about the project.
The Academy Award-nominated actress continued, sharing that the series will “use breasts as a metaphor for the constant judgement women are submitted to, creating a collective sensation that no matter what we do we are never enough. In this show, we give the breast a voice that takes us through the life of a woman from a unique perspective that often we don’t dare to see.”
While the team behind the show has not yet announced who will be playing the main character Leslie, Hayek has appeared in several of the projects that her company, Ventanarosa, has produced, including “Frida” and “Ugly Betty.”
The 54-year old actress recently turned heads after sharing a water-side photo of herself in a bikini on social media. “Here we come 2021 -- full of hope, dreams, and unexpected strength,” Hayek wrote. “Ready for new adventures.”
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Hayek explained why she has been posting bikini pictures on Instagram and why she sees them as "liberating."
"I had to lose a lot of weight and exercise to get into the bikini towards the end of last year," Hayek said. "I'm glad I took a lot of pictures, I have no shame on it, because it was the first week of the vacation."
