A lot has changed since Snoop Dogg was in his Death Row Records days, but as he told Keke Palmer on the latest episode of her podcast, he is still the same "entrepreneur" he’s always been. “My brand [now] is a household family brand,” he said proudly. “Cause I got products for everybody. I got 'Doggyland,' a kid’s program that’s on YouTube... I have products for adults, I have alcohol, clothes, ice cream, whatever you want, we got it!”

A family-name brand is still authentic to Snoop, both as a rapper and individual. He explained that he’s stayed true to himself regardless if others realize it. “It’s all me, you’re just getting versions of me that I decide to give you when the time is right” he explained to Keke. “I’ve stayed Snoop Dogg the whole way, no matter what I’ve done.” His best advice for business owners? Avoid the easy trends. “You can’t be a victim of the trends, you can’t be a follower. You have to learn how to lead. Even when the times get rough… you gotta stay you.”

As the podcast began to wrap up, Keke Palmer asked the rapper (who’s seemingly done it all) if he had any lifetime goals left to achieve. “Yes, I wanna honor our great friend, Nipsey Hussle,” said Snoop. The two rappers both came from the West Coast Hip-Hop scene and were close friends and collaborators. Since Hussle’s death in 2019, Snoop has paid tribute to his friend by speaking at the memorial, releasing the commemorative song “Nipsey Blue” on his birthday, and more.

“But in the spirit of him,” the rapper continued, “he used to always tell me, ‘Snoop. You are bigger than Mickey Mouse. You need your own amusement park.’ So I would love to see someday, somebody put up a whole lot of money to build a Snoop Dogg amusement park.”

“Man, I am there. Let me know how I can help” Keke replied with a gasp, seemingly infatuated with the idea. “Because it’s true - you’re immortalized. You’ve immortalized yourself… the brand you’ve created can never be taken away.”

You have to admit, a “Snoop Dogg World” theme park has a certain ring to it! To hear more from Snoop Dogg about how he grew from a hometown rapper to worldwide personality, listen in to the full podcast episode on the Audacy app here.
