Never underestimate a small idea because one day it might actually assist in helping a major pandemic. A nurse practitioner in Greenville, SC who works at Bon Secours St. Francis Health System and her husband came up with the idea to create masks out of a Pepsi 2-liter bottle. The couple quickly contacted a local bottler company to see if they would be willing to donate a few, and so that the nurse’s husband could make them for other hospital employees. Local Pepsi™ bottling facilities, Pepsi of Greenville SC, Pepsi of Florence SC and Minges Bottling Group of Ayden, NC together with manufacturing co-op partner Carolina Canners Inc. (CCI) of Cheraw, SC jumped on board to help the need that many people are battling with the lack of the proper masks for medics.
Now multiple hospitals are now benefited from over 1200 donated bottles. This is a true testament of what community is and how it’s always better to #StayConnectedTogether.
