Steelers fans hoping that Honey Badger will somehow end up in Pittsburgh black and gold are holding their breath today, because Tyrann Mathieu is reportedly visiting another black and gold team Tuesday.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that the free agent safety is meeting with the Saints “while he’s in New Orleans with family and friends.”

Rapoport adds that nothing is expected to be announced any time soon.

While it may just be a meeting of convenience Rapoport says “one of the top players available will be at his first facility this offseason.”

After saying last week, it seemed that Mathieu cost too much for the Steelers (with their focus on re-signing Minkah Fitzpatrick) NFL Network’s Aditi Kinkhabwala told the PM Team on Monday that it appears his price has come down.

“I have been told that Honey Badger may not need quite as much money as I was told he needed a week ago,” said Kinkhabwala.

She also said the idea of getting to play with Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin is “very enticing.”
