After watching Josh Allen march the Bills downfield to an opening touchdown, Patrick Mahomes came out and did the same thing. Mahomes used his legs to the tune of 43 rushing yards, including an 8-yard TD run to tie the game 7-7.
The next three possessions weren't nearly as explosive or exciting, for either team. A 50-yd Buffalo punt pinned the Chiefs at the 1-yd line, leading to a three-and-out by the Kansas City offense. Another Buffalo three-and-out saw the Bills punt for the second-straight possession.
Kansas City would get into the end zone for a second time in the first half, marching down to the 2-yd line where Patrick Mahomes would make another video game throw under pressure. Mahomes hit wide receiver Byron Pringle in the back of the end zone, Pringle's third TD catch in the last two games.
Buffalo would tie the game after a lightning quick 7-play 75-yd drive, capped off by a Gabriel Davis TD catch from 18 yards out.
Chiefs placekicker Harrison Butker would miss a 50-yd FG at the end of the second quarter, pushing it just wide to the right.
