It's been nearly 48 hours since the Chiefs made their blockbuster trade that sent star receiver Tyreek Hill to the Dolphins, and it doesn't quite feel like the dust has settled yet. Miami's benefit is fairly obvious, as the Dolphins now have one of the better playmakers in football at their disposal. So what's the benefit for the Chiefs? Talking with 610's Fescoe In the Morning, team insider Pete Sweeney tried to answer that.
"I think what you got with yesterday, in having now 12 picks, is you have ultimate flexibility," he said. "If you really study what these other teams might do, and you talk around the league, there's some strategy to that, where you try to figure out who's going to take, and what position in the first round. Especially in the second round, you have enough picks where you can pretty much pick in the second round if you feel that need. First round, you're still not necessarily getting into the top 10, but now with the two first rounders, you can play a little bit. It gets a little bit interesting, if they really like an edge guy in the first round."
