How many wins will Chiefs need to secure AFC's 1-seed?

After the Chiefs' 24-20 loss to the Bills, a lot's been made about what the result means for the status of the AFC's 1-seed. Buffalo is seemingly in the driver's seat for home field advantage throughout the playoffs, but while speaking to 610's The Drive on Wednesday, Chiefs Insider Pete Sweeney explained why he agrees with host Carrington Harrison that the Chiefs may need to win 13 games to get the top spot.

"I agree. I think if you're looking for positives about this situation, it's that the AFC East is a lot better than the AFC West," he said. "Which is not something we did not ever, ever expect. The Chiefs should, once again, be able to handle the rest of the division and win every game. I don't know if that's necessarily a given for Buffalo – their one loss came in the division to Miami, New England's looked better than I thought they would, the Jets' defense actually looks like one of the better defenses in the AFC, to be fair. And so I think they're suddenly the team with a harder division schedule than the Chiefs. Pleasant surprise given the circumstances. And I still expect the Bills, who are a good team, to go 12-5. But this could come back to you, I think, maybe more-so than we thought. Had we known this been the case pre-season, I think you feel better about it now."
