Only six years into his career, Patrick Mahomes is already known for quite a few different things. Though he's already a Super Bowl champion, perennial MVP candidate, and one of the best QBs of the modern era, nothing gets people talking about Mahomes quite like some of his wildest throws. He's garnered a bit of a reputation for his impressive ability to get the ball out at a bunch of different angles, and while talking to 610's The Drive this week, his high school coach revealed a bit of where that skill came from.

"When you talk about the arm angle, never did we teach that," he said. "The philosophy on that was, we knew he was playing so many sports, and we didn't want to over-coach him. We were a hurry-up, no-huddle offense, so we wanted him to get it out quickly. We wanted him to grab the ball sometimes without the laces and throw it and just get it out of there quick. I think it was just a good fit. We never tried to put him in a box and tried to fix everything that he was doing it. And I think it just turned out to be great for his career."
