Ray Lewis loves to do his infamous pregame dance before big Ravens games, so it wasn't surprising to see him out there on Sunday night against the Chiefs. NBC's cameras caught a glimpse of Mahomes watching Lewis' intro, which quickly became a hit on Twitter:
During his weekly interview on 610's The Drive on Tuesday, Mahomes tried his best to explain the funny reaction.
"I watched Ray growing up, and so it was cool to see him come out and do it," he said. "I was trying to get Chad Henne’s attention because he actually can do the dance as well. That shuffle thing that he does. So I was trying to get Chad to do it, but he wouldn’t do it.
“I’ve heard many stories of quarterbacks that have played against him. And how he was diagnosing plays, and calling out what you were going to do, and what your checks were, even to the point of telling you what you should check to. Just the mindset of being to know that, the film study, that’s definitely something I’m glad I don’t have to go against.”
